The Gold American Eagle Proof Set includes the 1/10 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/2 ounce, and one ounce gold eagle coins. Each set generally comes packaged in a satin lined blue velvet presentation case. In addition, each comes with a certificate of authenticity that is signed by the Director of the United States Mint.

The obverse designer is Augustus Saint Gaudens. The coin has a modified design of Saint Gaudens $20 coin designed in gold. The coin features standing Liberty. The face or obverse side has a full figure of Lady Liberty as depicted by the artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It shows her hair blowing in the wind, and in her right hand she is holding an olive branch, and in her left hand she is holding the torch of freedom.

As for the reverse designer, Mrs. Miley Frances Busiek designed the family of eagles on the concept of family tradition and unity. You can see the design of a male eagle carrying an olive branch, flying above a nesting female eagle. This engraving was designed by a sculpture by the name of Miley Busiek. Just below the male eagle there is a female eagle in the nest with her hatchlings.
